Publish Products To Ebay

Publishing Products

Introducing Effortless Product Publishing!

With our new feature, you can now seamlessly push your Shopify products to your chosen marketplace. While we currently only support eBay, stay tuned for more marketplace integrations coming soon! This guide provides detailed steps for effortless product publishing. Let's get started.

Currently supported marketplaces:
Ebay

Setup your sales channel

Go to the connection tab and select the Marketplace you'd like to publish products to.

A popup will appear. Scroll down to the "Publishing Products Default Data" section. As marketplaces vary in their requirements, provide any additional product information as needed. This data will serve as the default for every new product import to our system (so not yet to the marketplace). You have the flexibility to update this information on a per-product basis whenever necessary. More details on this topic will be provided later.

Also in the popup, select the rounding and the Markup:

Markup: This feature allows you to adjust the product's price, either as a percentage increase or a fixed amount added to the initial price. To disable markup, simply set the type to "fixed" and the amount to zero.
Rounding: You have the option to choose a number between 0 and 0.99, which will round prices to 2 decimal places during product imports. For example, if you set rounding to 0.95, a product priced at 33.93 (after percentage addition) will automatically round to 33.95 when imported to the marketplace. The rounding process will always select the closest value, meaning that 33.94 will also become 33.95, while 34.01 will also be rounded down to 33.95.

Save your marketplace.

Select your Shopify Products

To begin, navigate to the Shopify Products page and choose the products you wish to publish on a marketplace. Then, click on "More Actions," scroll to the bottom, and select "Sync to Marketplace Connect."

Upon clicking "Sync to Marketplace Connect," you'll be directed to our app. Here, choose the variants you want to publish, select the desired marketplaces, and then click "Save."

Once you've clicked "Save," you'll be redirected to our products page. Here, you'll find an overview of all your products, including their publication status. Products may be marked as published, failed, or requiring further action.

Assigning Necessary Product Information
This step is optional, as it will use the default product information entered in the Connections tab from Step 1. However, if product information varies on a per-product basis, you have two ways to modify it:

The product detail page
To modify product information for a specific product, locate the product in the products table and click on the eye icon. This action will redirect you to the product's details page.

On the product's details page, you can enter marketplace-specific product information. Clicking "Save" will seamlessly navigate you to the next tab. You can easily switch between marketplaces using the tabs provided.

The Shopify Bulk Editor (Recommended)
While the previous method is effective, it can be time-consuming for a large number of products. That's why we've integrated with the Shopify Bulk Editor to streamline the process, making it faster and more efficient for managing numerous products at once.

Begin by selecting the products you want to edit. Then, in the top right corner, click "Bulk edit", a popup will appear where you have to choose your preferred marketplace.

You'll then be directed to the Shopify Bulk Editor, where you can conveniently make the desired changes to the selected product information. Once you've made the necessary updates, simply click "Save," and the data will automatically sync with our app.

After saving the products, please go back to our app.

Assigning Categories

To address the varying taxonomy (category) systems across different marketplaces, we've implemented a user-friendly solution via a popup selection. This enables you to easily choose the appropriate category for your products, ensuring compatibility with the specific requirements of each marketplace.

Again, we have implemented 2 ways for this:

Product Popup

To choose a category for a product, click anywhere within the product's row in the products table, excluding the eye icon. This action will open a popup where you can make your category selection.

Upon clicking, a popup will appear, allowing you to select the category. Use the arrows to navigate through parent categories, but keep in mind that you can only choose leaf categories for selection.

After selecting the category, you'll be prompted to enter additional data specific to that category. Since different categories within a taxonomy require distinct data, this step ensures that the product information aligns accurately with the chosen category. In some cases, there is no need to enter additional data, please just press save in that case.

When you click "Next" or "Save," you'll seamlessly transition to the category assignment step for that product on the next marketplace. This streamlined process ensures efficient handling of product categories across various marketplaces. You can also use the navigation at the top.

Mass Assignment (Recommended)

To simplify the process when you want to publish multiple products with identical categories and values, we've developed a convenient bulk action feature. This allows you to apply these settings effortlessly across multiple products, saving you time and effort.

To assign categories to multiple products at once, start by selecting all the relevant products in the products table. Then, in the top right corner, click on "Category Assignment." This action will trigger a popup where you can select the marketplaces for which you wish to assign categories.

In the popup, choose the category for your selected products. Enter the category and click "Next" to proceed.

Next, you'll be prompted to provide product information specific to the category you selected for each product. At the top, you'll have a clear view of the product you're currently editing. When you click "Next," the values will remain the same as in the previous popup, making it easy to proceed quickly if much of the information is duplicated.

Publishing products

After successfully completing all the above steps, you are now fully prepared to publish your products on your preferred marketplaces. Your products are ready to go, and you can initiate the publishing process with confidence.

Choose all the products you intend to publish. Once they are selected, in the top-right corner, click "Publish Products" to initiate the publishing process. Once you've clicked "Publish Products," your selected products will be automatically published to the marketplaces you designated in Step 2. This streamlined process ensures efficient and hassle-free product publishing.

Patience is key. The publication timeline varies by marketplace and can take anywhere from minutes to hours, and in some cases, even days. As we begin the publishing process, the status will be updated to "Publishing." Please allow the necessary time for your products to go live on the selected marketplaces.

Succesfull / handling errors

After attempting to publish the products, you'll find that the status will either change to "Failed" or "Published." You can easily locate these products by navigating to the corresponding tabs, either "Published" or "Failed," for further review and management.

As an example, when you've successfully assigned product data and the product has been published without any issues, you can find it under the "Published" tab, indicating that it's live on eBay.

On the contrary, for this product where category information was not assigned, it appears under the "Failed" tab. To investigate the issue, you can click the eye icon, select your desired marketplace from the tab, and review the import error to understand what went wrong in the publishing process.

Update your product information, and try again.
